Privacy Policy
This policy explains the information used by the current DAATS Healthcare storefront and the services that support it.
Last updated: 12 October 2026
Who is responsible for this site
DAATS Healthcare is operated by Disability Accessible Accommodation and Travel (Pty) Ltd, registration 2018/432367/07, based in Kempton Park, Gauteng, South Africa. Our publicly approved trading and collection address is 28 Piet-my-Vrou Avenue, Birch Acres Ext 12, Kempton Park, Gauteng, 1618, South Africa. For a privacy question, contact info@daats.co.za.
Information the current site handles
- Online store interactions needed for products, prices, availability, basket, checkout, orders and customer-account functions.
- Contact details and enquiry information when you choose to contact DAATS by email, phone or WhatsApp.
- Product-review information you submit, such as rating, review title, review text and display name.
- Messages you choose to send to the DAATS AI Order Assistant and the catalogue matches used to answer your shopping question.
- Reorder-reminder information for signed-in customers, including the relevant customer/product references, reminder interval, status and schedule.
- Technical error and service information used to operate, secure and troubleshoot the site.
Information kept in your browser
The basket keeps its store basket reference and the display details needed to show your basket in local browser storage. The connected commerce service manages the actual store cart and checkout.
If you start a general, Medical Aid or RAF enquiry, the draft answers are kept only in local browser storage on that device for up to 7 days while you complete the form. The storefront does not submit that draft to DAATS automatically. At the end, you choose whether to send, copy or print it.
Account session and functional storage
When customer accounts are configured and you sign in, the site uses a necessary secure customer-account session cookie so the account can remain signed in. The current session configuration can keep that cookie for up to 30 days.
The DAATS storefront code does not currently add advertising trackers or non-essential analytics trackers. We therefore do not show a generic consent banner for tracking the storefront does not use. If non-essential tracking is introduced later, the privacy and consent approach will need to be reviewed before that change is enabled.
Services that support the site
The connected commerce service supports the store catalogue, customer accounts, cart and checkout. Supabase supports specific DAATS features including product reviews, reorder reminders and DAATS administration/content features. When you deliberately use email or WhatsApp to contact DAATS, that communication is also handled by the service you choose.
These services may process technical and account information needed to provide their functions. When the AI Order Assistant is configured, the message you submit and a small set of matching DAATS product details may be sent to an AI service provider to prepare the answer. The assistant request is configured not to create a stored AI response record. DAATS does not use this page to claim that information is never processed or never shared with service providers.
Why information is used
Information is used to operate the storefront and customer account, provide the features you request, respond to enquiries, manage reviews and reorder reminders, and maintain the reliability and security of the service.
Which details are needed
You can browse DAATS Healthcare products without submitting a review or setting a reorder reminder. If you choose to place an order, the connected checkout asks for the information required to process your purchase and chosen delivery or collection method. If you do not provide required checkout information, that order cannot be completed. Enquiries, reviews and reorder reminders are optional features.
Medical Aid and RAF enquiries
The website asks you not to enter medical reports, diagnoses, identity numbers, membership numbers or banking details into the enquiry draft or AI Order Assistant. If supporting documents are needed, contact DAATS so the appropriate route can be confirmed.
How long information is kept
Local enquiry drafts expire after up to 7 days, and the current customer-account session cookie can last up to 30 days. Other store, account, review, reminder and operational records are kept according to the relevant service and business purpose. Contact DAATS if you have a question about retention of your information.
POPIA and privacy requests
South African privacy law, including the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), may give you rights in relation to your personal information. You can contact DAATS to ask about access, correction, deletion or objection where applicable. We may need to verify the request before acting on it.
For a privacy or access-to-information request, email info@daats.co.za with the subject “Privacy or information request”, or use our contact details. DAATS will direct the request to the person responsible for handling it. Please do not include passwords, banking details or sensitive medical documents in your initial message.
Some of the services that support this site may process information outside South Africa. You may contact DAATS to ask about the processing arrangements and the safeguards that apply to your information.
